AI Assistant

The AI Assistant is an optional feature: no data is sent to WallyMates' own servers for analysis — everything happens directly between your device and the AI provider you choose, using your own API key.

Where to find it

Settings → AI — the same on both the Windows app and Android. This is also where you pick your primary provider (with manual switching).

Your own API key — nothing else

This feature doesn't work out of the box — you need your own API key from Google AI Studio (Gemini), the Anthropic Console (Claude), or the OpenAI Platform. Getting a key is free, via links right inside the app. The key is stored on your device only (encrypted) and never reaches WallyMates' servers.

Supported providers

• Google Gemini — Primary or fallback provider — get a key at aistudio.google.com.
• Anthropic Claude — Get a key at console.anthropic.com.
• OpenAI — Get a key at platform.openai.com.

You can set up several keys at once — if the chosen primary provider is temporarily unavailable, the app automatically tries the next one.

What the assistant actually does

• Quick-reply suggestions — Based on the recent messages in a chat, the assistant offers a few ready-made reply options — just pick one and edit if needed.
• Long conversation summaries — A one-tap summary of a long conversation or chat — handy for catching up on context fast, without scrolling back through everything.

Privacy

Requests go straight from your device to the AI provider you chose, using your own key — WallyMates never sees or stores the content of those requests. Usage terms and request limits are governed by whichever provider you picked (Google, Anthropic, or OpenAI).
