Messaging
WallyMates' base layer is ordinary messaging — but with tools that save time: voice-to-text, auto-translate, smart chat organization, reputation-based trust.
Attachment types
You can send almost anything into a chat: photos and videos (with a built-in editor), voice messages and short round video notes, music with an in-chat mini player, files of any format, GIFs from GIPHY, stickers, location, and polls.
Voice & video notes
- Speech-to-text — Turn a voice message into text with one tap — handy when listening isn't convenient (in public) or you need to skim a long message quickly.
- Playback speed — Sped-up playback (1.5x, 2x) for long voice messages.
- Short video notes — A round video message, recorded right in the chat, as an alternative to text or a plain voice message.
Auto-translate
Any message can be translated into your own language right in the chat, no third-party apps needed — useful in international groups and channels.
Message tools
- Reactions — Emoji reactions on messages — a quick response without sending a new message.
- Replies and forwarding — Quote a specific message in a reply, forward to other chats while keeping the original author attached.
- Editing and deleting — Edit an already-sent message and delete it — including "for everyone," on both sides of the chat.
- Pinned messages — A handful of important messages pinned to the top of the chat (the limit depends on your plan — see the PRO page).
Organizing your conversations
- Shared and local folders — Group chats into folders (Work, Family, Channels, etc.) — "shared" folders can be published as a link so others can add your exact chat set, while "local" ones stay on-device only. Up to 50 folders on a PRO account.
- Saved messages — A personal "notes to self" chat for saving anything important from any conversation.
- Search — Search across your entire message history — by text, date, or sender.
- Draft sync — An unfinished message draft syncs across devices — start typing on your phone, finish on your computer.
Scheduled messages
A message can be scheduled for a specific time — it sends automatically, even if the app is closed at that moment.
Reputation on your profile
Every user has a public trust rating (likes/dislikes from other users) visible on their profile — a quick read on who you're dealing with before you even start talking, especially useful in public channels and on business accounts.
Messaging privacy
The "online" / "last seen" status indicator can be turned off in settings — for how the conversation itself is technically protected, see the Security & Encryption page.
